Come slow down, create with intention, and craft something uniquely your own. Perfect for a solo reset or a calm, creative day with good company. Only available at our Toronto location.

Workshop highlights:

  • Learn the Art of Ikebana: In this hands-on workshop, Joyce will guide you through the foundational principles of ikebana and the mindful practice of creating your own arrangement to take home. Joyce is currently completing her second certificate in the Sogetsu School of Ikebana.
  • Thoughtful Floral Selection: Design with a curated, seasonal mix of stems chosen for their shape, movement, and structure — each selected to inspire intention and balance. 
  • Creative Expression: Craft an intentional and expressive arrangement that reflects your personal style, rooted in the principles of Ikebana.
  • Complimentary Treats: Enjoy light refreshments and snacks - a little extra nourishment as your create.
  • Connect & Reflect: A calming, grounding experience to enjoy solo or alongside friends and fellow Ikebana enthusiasts.
  • All-Inclusive: We provide all materials and tools, including pin frog (the kenzan), vessel, and shears. You're welcome to bring your own floral clippers, but it's not required.

Skill level: This workshop is open to all skill levels.

A couple friendly reminders: 

  • Workshop will start on time
  • All workshops are non-refundable
  • If you can’t make the workshop, you can transfer to another person. We’ll need at least 48 hours notice - just email us!
  • riya blooms reserve the right to cancel the workshop and refund you in full if the class is less than 2 participants (48 hours notice)

A few notes:

  • All photos are for reference only and flowers used during the actual workshop is subject to seasonal/market availability. Your arrangement will be unique and will vary based on the design style and availability of materials you selected.
  • If you plan to attend multiple workshop sessions, please bring the vessel and kenzan from your first session to reuse in future classes. 
  • If you have a different date, time, or location in mind that's not currently listed, feel free to reach out - we'll try our best to accommodate!

Disclaimer: Please note that Joyce is not a licensed Ikebana master. She is currently pursuing her second certificate with Sogetsu. This workshop is thoughtfully designed to share the principles and creative essence of Ikebana in an accessible, beginner-friendly setting.
